An internal essayistic journey through the filmmakers past in East Germany. This film searches for the meaning of a father and manliness.
With the help of this film, Hendrik ultimately looks for both of his fathers, the unknown biological and the known but disappeared social father.
Shot in 4:3, the film uses a 80s and 90s visual memory, known from TV, as well as actors who reenact the filmmaker’s parents and himself as kid and teenager.
